Linum Consult’s client is part of an international construction group, specialising in civil engineering. They are currently looking to hire a Tendering Engineer to work in a hybrid role based in London and working from home.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acting as a bridge between business development, operations, and estimating teams to understand the technical requirements of a tender and evaluating them accordingly
  • Reviewing tender documents and studying technical specifications, works information, and requirements, highlighting any areas of risk and/or opportunities for consideration during the selection phase
  • Participating in tender selection (bid/no bid) processes and validating opportunities
  • Preparing tender clarifications to remove ambiguities in the tender documents
  • Attending site surveys/visits to enhance the company’s understanding of the potential project
  • Collaborating with the estimating and project teams to optimise the constructability of projects, including definition of logistic plans, phasing of construction, and identification of subcontract activities to support costing estimates

PROFILE

  • Master’s degree qualification in Civil Engineering or similar subject
  • Excellent IT skills and technical knowledge of CAD tools and planning software
  • Ability to interpret works information/specifications, assessing risks and opportunities, and developing appropriate solutions
  • Excellent technical English skills, with the ability to write method statement narratives
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to act as liaison between multiple departments
  • Able and keen to travel frequently to project sites across the UK
  • The right to live and work in the UK
